I was born in New York City just about two decades
ago, and I spent pretty much my entire minorhood
there as well. I started my music career at seven
singing with the Metropolitan Opera Children's
Choir, where I stayed until twelve when my voice
started to change. Around then I started to write
as well as sing, and I finished my first song at
thirteen (which is now the fourth track on my
debut album). In 2003 I worked with Don Rosler on
the Latin lyrics for several chorale pieces
written by Bobby McFerrin and Roger Treece. I
recorded my first demo a year later in 2004,
working with such renowned musicians as David
Rozenblatt, Matt Fieldes, Mike Aarons and Adam
Ben-David. However, most of my acclaim in the
humanities world has come from my work as an
author and poet. I currently hold the record for
New York State regional Scholastic writing awards
with eleven gold keys and two silver keys, as well
as two national gold keys, two national silver
keys and the James B Reston outstanding writing
portfolio award. Currently I am a third year
student at Harvard University, concentrating in
Government and East Asian studies, and this past
April I released my debut album, She Makes Noise,
which can be previewed and purchased at
www.devavidon.com, iTunes, digstation.com or
CDbaby.com. WOXII was so kind as the to remix the
last track for us, which you can hear here.
