soooooo...what i've been doing recently is basically working on my camera skills, taking macro style photography and practicing angles and playing with lighting so that i can run shots from behind a camera, and really try to improve my cinematography. for those of you unfamiliar with "macro photography", basically it's getting the camera real close to an object and finding something interesting when real close. many people do this but, what i've been doing is working with small figurines to get the feel for shooting actual people. along with the figurines i've also been shooting some music studio items. this is what hapens when you get close to musicians. i'll be posting them here soon for everyone to have a look at so expect them soon.
along with photography i've also been working on writing up script and story work for Midnight's Exile and their new album coming out sometime next year. it's been an interesting and sometimes trying time of work because, well, as much as i have the imagination and ability to come up with a story, i'm not a brilliant writer. much wording and terminology has to be corrected, but, we have stories completed for six tracks so far and with minor tweaking i think we should have this hammered out and finished by the end of the month.
lastly, you'll notice that i have not used many capitol letters here...that's cause i just don't like using them all the time.hey, at least this way you'll always know it's me typing this.

Well, I haven't been around WOXIIdotcom much lately. It has been a stressful year so far. First, the new year was pretty lousy, next, I had a "parting of the ways" with Crazed Weasel. The details to that are long and tedious so I won't go into it at all. Next there's been issues in my relationship and job issues...it's jut been difficult to do much of anything except press on and try to keep going.
Not too sure what most of that first paragraph means but...I decided to post a few pictures from the Mix One Studio shoot and post some links to some amazing youtube videos that were fan made and have some AMAZING editing, timing and execution. Most of these are Doctor Who tributes but I'll TRY to post something different.
First is a tribute to 45 Years of Doctor Who by Stuart Humphryes
Next is a DoctorWho tribute by Seduff
and anotherby Seduff
and this is a Tributeto Doctor Who by another YouTube user that goes by the handle DavidBowieFanForever

so here's another one
andanotheramazing vocalist!
OH! here'sone I directed with my cousin. we mocked up the titles and well, it IS supposed to VERY low quality on purpose. the idea was that a bunch of kids made it XD we wanted it to look like something that was made quite a few years ago and you know, i'm prety happy with it. a bit of polish and some work and i think it would be a great short horror/comedy.
Here's a fun video and interesting tune by Groove Armada
Ok, so getting back to Doctor Who, this video is probably myfavorite tribute ever
and that's it really. Those are probably my favorite videos whether it be due to editing or content or just because it's a video of one of my favorite artists.
I hope you enjoyed this post.

Okies,
This is the first blog I've ever done before...so bear with me. There
won't be any bells 'n whistles or cool picture inserts...cause i don't
know how to do it...but today, I want to talk about some music and
musicians that have influenced me. Ready? Here we go.
~
Mike Patton
Mike
Patton is probably the main staple of my musical listening. His music
is generally considered "rock" but it really explores the boundaries of
that generic label. His music wanders, rather expertly, through jazz,
and classical, and blues and just about anywhere he can take it. I hear
a serious influence from Frank Zappa in his music, just like i hear
Mike Patton's influence in other bands like Mindless Self Indulgence.
It's hard to see it from a moderate sampling of his work, especially if
you listen to say, a small amount of Faith No More or Mr. Bungle. If
you get past the first taste of his music, you'll discover other
flavors, a rainbow of colors and emotions to his music that were not
readily visible at first. I have a link here to his Wikipedia page that
shows a general overview of his career so far: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Patton

Daft Punk
It's
difficult to go from Mike Patton's music to a band that makes primarily
Techno, but, this band is one I listen to often. It's also hard to call
two people a band, especially when they barely use actual instruments
and people, i feel wrongly, accuse Daft Punk of using nothing but
samples of other peoples work...which really isn't the case. Out of 40
songs done in the studio as original works and not re-mixes, 12 songs
contain confirmed samples of other peoples work in them. Some of these
samples used are the basis for the entire song, however, that
overshadows the fact that many of the original songs were cheesy and
never really reached the full potential that the original band had
intended. Also,Daft Punk has credited these samples in their albums
line notes and credits pages. Thing is, I feel Daft Punk has brought
these songs more to the fuller potential than the original artist had
ever dreamed of. The thing that drew me to this band, was their
nostalgic sense of the the past, mainly their childhood, which was
within the same decades I grew up in (the 70's and 80's) There's a lot
of analog digital sounds in it. Their album Discovery features added
filters here and there to make it sound like a low grade record player.
You know, the muffled bass sound that was such low-fi crap? Daft Punks
main sound is that of Disco mixed with modern techno. The album
Discovery is pretty much considered to be their best work yet. Check
out this Wikipedia page to learn more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daft_Punk

There's so
much more I could keep adding to this, but these two are in my main
listening rotation. So, go ahead and let me know if you've heard of
these two, let me know what you think, and let me know who you folks
listen to when you're not working on your own music.
